We invite you to attend a Legislative overview and training session together with our Legislative department on October 16th.
This training will provide information and guidelines on the legislative process, how to apply for bond initiatives(bills) and grants, a tour of the State House and a light lunch.
The Visitors Program staff members will be posted at the session arrival point, the College Avenue entrance of the Legislative Services Building, to escort you as our guest to the Joint Hearing Room after you finish the security check.
We recommend that guest arrive at 8:45-8:50 am so they can be settled comfortably in the Joint Hearing Room for the 9 am start of the session.
--For security reasons, all visitors 16 years and older please need to show a photo identification to enter the legislative complex.
--Everyone will also need to walk through a metal detector when entering the building and pass any bags and other items through the screening machine.

The Visitors Program looks forward to offering a guided group tour of the Maryland State House and the legislative complex (House Office Building, tunnel system, Senate Office Building) (11:00AM to 12:30PM)
At the conclusion of the tour, we will serve a light lunch, answer questions and conclude our activities(12:30PM-2:00PM)
