2026-27 Scholarship Application is now open

Basic Requirements:

MUST LIVE IN DISTRICT 47. Please go to http://mdelect.net/ to ensure Senator Augustine is your Senator.  

COMPLETE AND FILE THE APPLICATION FOR A SENATORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis pending availability of funds. You must have a 2.0 GPA, which should be included on the application.
PLAN TO ATTEND A MARYLAND COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY, and OR A PRIVATE CAREER SCHOOL: The applicant must attend a college, university, or private career school in the State of Maryland. The private career school must have the approval of the Maryland Higher Education Commission to operate, and must be accredited by a national accrediting association approved by the United States Department of Education. Applicants may be eligible for scholarship assistance to attend out-of-state colleges, universities or private career schools if they are enrolling in an academic program which is not offered in a Maryland college, university, or private career school.
PLAN TO ATTEND SCHOOL FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME: Full-time attendance is defined as 12 credits per semester for undergraduate and 9 credits per semester for graduate students. Part-time attendance is defined as 6 to 11 credits per semester for undergraduates and 6 to 8 credits per semester for graduate students.
FAFSA must have been completed by 3/1/26.

Eligible applicants are:

  • District 47 residents. To check your district, please visitwww.mdelect.net.
  • Enrolled at a two-year or four-year Maryland college, university, or private career school as a full-time (12+ credits per semester) or part-time (6-11 credits per semester) degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student, for the semester that you wish to receive the scholarship. Current high school seniors are eligible.
  • You may be eligible as an out-of-state student if your major is not available at any Maryland institution. In order to verify your major as unique, you must complete the Unique Major Application (Found here:https://mhec.maryland.gov/preparing/Documents/Financial%20Aid/UNIQUE%20MAJOR%20APPLICATION%20(16-17).pdf)  and submit it to MHEC with the required documentation. Allow 8 weeks for processing.

  1. Tell us about yourself, your goals, and the need for the scholarship; 2. Describe why you are pursuing higher education and/or your specified degree; 3. Share the impact you have made in your community and/or how your academic goals will help you continue making an impact • High School or College Transcript (unofficial current transcript; or official most recent copy). This can be scanned/emailed to[email protected]or uploaded to this application.
